What conversion changes
JPG works well for photographs but can make text and sharp interface edges look fuzzy. Keep PNG for diagrams whose labels must remain crisp.
JPG has no alpha channel. This tool explicitly fills transparent regions with white before encoding. Review logos and cut-out objects against that background.
Inspect text and translucent edges
For a transparent logo, check semi-transparent edges as well as the background: they blend with white and can look pale on a dark page. For a screenshot, inspect small labels for JPEG halos.
Quality changes compression, not width or height. A small flat-color PNG may already be more efficient than JPG; compare the actual bytes instead of assuming the new copy is smaller.
Keep a source for later edits
Create each JPG from the original PNG. Repeated JPEG saves can add compression damage. Source metadata and color-profile details may not survive this browser conversion, so keep the original for print or archival work.

Why did my transparent background become white?
JPG cannot store transparency. This tool composites transparent pixels over white before encoding.
Can I make the image narrower here?
This conversion keeps pixel dimensions. Use Image Resizer when width or height must change.
Does it accept animated PNG?
No. Animated PNG input is rejected; choose a static PNG.
Which quality should I use?
Start with the default, inspect edges and text, then compare lower settings if you need fewer bytes. There is no guaranteed file size.
